Double impressions from both the hotel and Vietnam. The location of the rooms relative to the hotel

When planning any trip, the question of accommodation always arises. Many hotels are ready to offer an endless variety of rooms, from which, often, you do not know what to expect.

Unfortunately, there are no unified world standards for the classification of hotel rooms, but to figure out which room is hidden under this or that name (for example, superior room- that it is) is possible.

Hotel room categories

In Russian hotels, rooms are divided into a couple of different categories: highest and standard.

The highest

  • Suite(Suite). Upscale hotel room with an area of 75 m². The suite consists of at least three rooms. One of the mandatory requirements is a separate guest toilet.
  • In addition to the bedroom, the suite must have a living room and a separate office, or visually separated from the living room space.

  • Apartment(Apartment). The area of this room starts at 40 m². Requirements: at least two rooms, and a kitchen area must be present.
  • Suite(Luxe). A room that can comfortably accommodate two people. Consists of a bedroom (sometimes more than one) and a living room. The area of the Suite is not less than 35 m².
  • Junior Suite(Junior Suite). This is a one-room suite, the convenient layout of which visually delimits the space into a sleeping area and a living room. Junior Suite area not less than 25 m².
  • Studio(Studio). One room with a kitchen area. The area of the Studio is not less than 25 m².
  • Standard

All rooms of the standard category are one-room.

The difference lies in the number of beds, the presence or absence of a bathroom in the room.

  1. 1st category(otherwise - standard). Designed to accommodate one or two people. The room has a toilet room.
  2. 2nd category... It differs from the 1st category in the presence of an incomplete bathroom (sink and toilet).
  3. 3rd category... The number of people staying in this room depends on the number of beds. But at least 6 m² must be allocated for each tenant. The room is equipped with either an incomplete bathroom or one full bathroom for several rooms.
  4. 4th category... It differs from the room of the 3rd category by the presence of only a washbasin.
  5. 5th category... In the rooms of the fifth category, a bathroom is not provided at all. The washbasin is located in the hallway.

Hotel room classification - transcript and translation

Numbers in foreign countries may differ in classification and requirements from Russian standards.

European standard

Window view - symbols

In resort countries, there is also a classification of rooms according to the view from the windows. Usually an abbreviation is added to the name of the room, for example, Deluxe, for example, Gv(Garden View), informing about what kind of view awaits you from the windows of this room. Deluxe GV is a Deluxe room with a garden view.

Let's figure out what types are hidden under certain abbreviations:

To book a room at the hotel, use this convenient search form. Enter town, arrival and departure dates and number of guests.

  • The correct choice of hotel room, of course, depends on budget, on what kind of vacation you are counting on, with whom you will go.
  • If it will be with you child, then you definitely need to pay attention to what kind of sleeping place will be provided for him.
  • If you are a lover of excursions and outdoor activities, then at the hotel you will be just sleep... Why pay extra for Superior benefits over Standard if you don't even notice? In this case, you can think about Promo room, if the selected hotel offers such an option.
  • If you prefer a beach holiday and expect to spend most of your time on the territory of the hotel, the room should be sufficient comfortable.

In this case, the only question is what do you expect from the room and for what bonuses you agree to pay extra.

A pleasant evening on the balcony with a glass of wine and overlooking the sea will be impossible if the room does not have a balcony or the windows overlook the wall of a neighboring building.

It is best when there is an opportunity to find out in advance everything about the room in which you are going to spend your vacation, so that the impressions from it remain only pleasant.

See this video for an example of the number Superior room:

The hotel is located in a secluded bay, on the coast of Hon Tre Island, 10 km to Nha Trang city (50 min drive, boat / cable car + car), 40 km from Cam Ranh airport (1 hour 20 min drive, car + boat).

Good day to all. I will try to leave my subjective opinion about the hotel and about Vietnam in general.
And so, we had a family vacation, two adults and two children 10 and 12 years old, from 01.07 to 14.07 .. The tour operator Anex, as the travel agent assured, when booking a certain category of rooms, with the FB food concept, only the tour operator Anex visits Vinperl Island throughout leisure facilities including funicular and speedboat are free.
Ten-hour flight AzurAir in Spartan conditions and we are in Vietnam. The time difference is 4 hours plus. About 40-45 minutes and we are at the mainland reception of the hotel. They gave the passports and after a half-hour registration with photographing, we were given 4 hotel key cards, which, as it turned out, constantly had to be carried with us both for a pass to the island of attractions and for catering at the hotel itself when visiting a restaurant. By the way, these cards give certain privileges, in particular, when presented to the same funicular, they skipped the queue.
There are two ways to get to and from the island, a boat and a funicular. Boat 5 min, funicular 15 min. The boat leaves every half hour and always on its arrival is expected by a tuk-tuk, and after arriving by the funicular, the tuk-tuk will have to wait as it follows the schedule. They asked for a deposit, on the advice of those who left here earlier reviews, the know minibar said, as a result, he did not make a deposit.
So, upon arrival, the first unpleasant surprise awaited - the number of four of us turned out to be a tiny 28 microvolts. The room itself in the seventh building 7310 is comfortable - for two. Not bad for three, but for four - a double bed and a folding bed is just a song))). When I tried to change the number, the reception got a wall surcharge of 74 dollars a day and nothing else. While we took time to think, we went to get used to the territory of the hotel, in general, in the room itself we only spent the night and by default left everything as it is. The claim is not to the hotel, but to the travel agent in connection with incorrect information on accommodation. All bathroom amenities including toothbrushes and toothpaste are included in the room. robes, slippers and even flip-flops. Iron on request. Complimentary welcome fruit and a small selection of drinks in the minibar. Room cleaning is always invisible and good, the tip did not affect the cleaning.
On the territory of the hotel, as well as from all of Vietnam, I expected more. Some flavor, exoticism, zest, a kind of bounty - alas and ah))). In general, everything is good, calm bay, sea with white, alas, warming, in contrast to the Dominican Republic. sand (imported by the way - several times saw how barges swam up and through the hoses poured sand. And then excavators level it along the beach), palms. a relatively good pool and by the way to the left of the sea where there is a white statue - you can go up and see an interesting pagoda. where you can wander in peace and from where you can see interesting views and you can take interesting photos. Towels are issued without cards and in any quantity. There are not many sun beds, but there were always free ones. In the morning it was difficult to take the pool. Each umbrella has a button for calling the staff, with the subsequent ordering of something. The weather is 32-36, it feels like over 40. Wi-Fi works tolerably well throughout the hotel, so I decided not to buy softly imposed SIM cards by annex agents.
Meals- took FB and probably this is the optimal concept. Going to eat in Nha Trang every day is problematic, and on the island itself there is simply nowhere to eat inexpensively. Alcohol, juices, water are paid. A bottle of water per person in the room is issued per day, during meals, water and for breakfast juices in the form of zuko))) are free, and real juices are paid -100,000 dongs cost. The food itself seems to be a lot, but I am a meat eater - my gastronomic preferences are far from what was offered at the hotel. Feeding children is also problematic. Good breakfasts. The weakest lunches and mediocre dinners. Fo soup, frog legs, 5-6 kinds of fruit. (There was no mango sorrow) mediocre sushi, grilled squid, shrimp, mussels on the balcony, small pieces of meat not every day. I liked the dumplings in different forms. There were also our borsch))) but borsch this brew can hardly be called. Meals are strictly according to the schedule, 15 minutes in advance they notify that it will close soon. There is no dress code like that, but at lunchtime I saw a man in swimming clothes made a remark.
The contingent of holidaymakers is 45 percent of Russian-speaking 45 percent of Chinese and some English-speaking.
And now about the main thing - the island of entertainment. This is why we went and what, with rare exceptions, we liked. One day to visit is certainly not enough. I advise you to start with attractions, devote a day to this. There are 2 types of roller coasters at the entrance, then the very trick is the electric sled (it will take at least an hour to stand in line), then everything else. Second day water park and rafting by the sea. It was a little upset that on slides for 4 types 1 operator can stand and knock and have to wait too. We rode the lazy river with the children. The third day - a zoo, an aquarium, visit a dolphin and bird show according to the schedule. At 19-00, a fountain show, and a 5D cinema, a game room, depending on your mood. labyrinths, riding the funicular is also interesting (fortunately, skip-the-line maps), 3300 km is listed in the Guinness Book of Records, 80m height. in the evening, illumination in the form of the Eiffel Tower. Well, then repeat what you liked.
On excursions, we hurried, purchased from a tour operator individually - Dalat 450 dollars for a family. In principle, the two-day program fit into one day. We visited two temples, a garden of flowers, rode on the river on boats, visited Crazy House))) and especially liked the Prenn Park, in which two hours were not enough - we rode both ostriches and buffaloes and elephants, looked at an interesting zoo, rode cable car, beautiful waterfall, suspension bridge. You can rent national clothes and take pictures in jeeps with a bazooka from the Vietnam-American War. In general, I liked everything. the only minus is the three-hour serpentine road there and back. The children were sick, and we did not move the road very well. Therefore, they wanted to take Saigon and Kushchi underground villages during the war, but due to the distance of the trip, they decided to abandon this venture.
Excursions later only I realized it was much cheaper to take in Nha Trang. from 20 to 60 dollars per nose are the most popular. RIC and Alpha Tours in my opinion are the most inexpensive agencies. We drove 200,000 dong taxis on our own in the mud and 1,200,000 tickets for the four of us. for a change it will do but in fact 4 with a minus. I liked the mud bath itself, but the pools. Jacuzzi disdained with local aborigines.
On Instagram, we contacted the blogger snezhana_vn. she suggested us good restaurants in Nha Trang. which we visited with pleasure. Of the favorites - at the Havana Hotel on the 38th floor of Skylat and delicious and all of Nha Trang at a glance and the Sailing Club on the coast. and also went to the Zima disco - nothing special but normal music and a lot of ours, in the end we had a good time. Automobile traffic in the country is a separate topic - 80 percent are mopeds traveling in all directions. not observing absolutely any traffic rules. Crossing the street is a whole adventure ... We went to the market for our own people - 4th - 5th line, tickled our nerves, got lost, barely got out, hardly found a taxi, there was no point. On the main coastal street, everything is the same, even cheaper and more civilized. They eat everything that moves. passing by saw crocodiles on a spit, cats and dogs in tourist areas are forbidden to eat. The very trick was said to go to eat where the locals eat on plastic tables, like it's very cheap and tasty, but looking at how they eat and throw the leftovers under the table, even the thought of going there to eat did not arise.
Summing up, I apologize for a lot of probably unnecessary information, and in general I want to say that we had a good rest. but expected more from both the hotel and the country. In particular, I forgot to say at 6 pm it gets dark and after dinner the pianist only plays from entertainment and a couple of times until 10 pm imported mossy musicians play bearded hits of the 20th century by the pools. No music in the hotel, no animation program, not even volleyball))))))) no. Full relax. This is for understanding which hotel you are going to. Therefore, after the beloved Dominican Republic, the first couple of days there was a shock, and then in the end, in principle, I liked it. it's just a different vacation.
PS A couple of tips: Season in Nha Trang on the advice of experienced people from January to August; It is convenient to calculate dongs for our rubles according to the formula - minus three zeros and multiply by 3; the rate itself at the time of staying 22750 to the dollar at the hotel is changed by 22500. in the city changed by 22650; They ask about infections - thank God we did not catch any infections and did not hear any complaints about them from anyone. The only thing on the last day was the wife got a burn from the jellyfish, which was very painful, according to the wife, the beach rescuer came up and anointed it with a special ointment and after 10 minutes the tumor was greased and by the evening everything healed. And of course, the sun cream is at least 50, even in the shade you can burn out in a short period of time, I bathed with my children in hydromiches. Rain for the entire period was 1 day for two hours

169 years have passed since the advent of organized tourism - the first travel agency in history was opened in 1841 by Thomas Cook. At the same time, few people know about a unified classification system for hotel rooms: if the official star rating of hotels in most countries has already been sorted out, then with the rooms everything is somewhat more complicated.

Of course, almost every hotel, the category of which is higher than two or three stars, can offer its guests standard, deluxe and suite rooms. But the quality and quantity of services provided in them may vary even within the same hotel. And all because there are various characteristics of the views from the windows, the functional purpose of the rooms (family, business) and even design (for example, the Mediterranean suite in blue tones or the Caribbean in bright and tropical).

One thing is certain: a standard room in any hotel in the world should be one small room with a bed, a separate shower room, a small wardrobe and a TV. Each room's bathroom should also have a standard set of towels, soap and shower gel. By the way, in some countries, for example, in China, this set is always complemented by a comb, toothbrush and paste.

Common abbreviations

To begin with, it will be useful to understand for yourself the generally accepted abbreviations adopted by hoteliers around the world. If DBL (from the English "double" - double) or SGL ("single" - one, single), as a rule, do not cause any difficulties to anyone, then such ciphers as DUS (double use single - double number, which is used as single) or BG GV (bungalow garden view) can mislead even the most sophisticated tourist.

Let's talk about the main abbreviations used in the hotel environment.

Standart room

If the theater starts with a coat rack, then the hotel starts with a regular standard room (STD). It is by its appearance that one can make a completely adequate idea of the level of the hotel, the quantity and quality of the services provided in it. All standard rooms can be divided into doubles (doubles) and singles (singles). Sometimes a triple (triple) is added to the palette of rooms, but more often the hotel administration offers an extra bed in a double room.

Depending on the star rating of the hotel, they can vary greatly. For example, a traditional single in a 2 * hotel will be very small in size, barely accommodating a bed, bedside table and wardrobe. In addition, the price of accommodation will include cleaning no more than once a day (if you are lucky, or even less often), as well as a change of linen and towels every 3-5 days. The set in the bathroom will be minimal: a towel, soap and sometimes shower gel.

A completely different picture will appear before a vacationer in a single five-star hotel. Large comfortable bed, armchair, table with mirror, daily cleaning, full cosmetic set in the bathroom, including all kinds of fragrant soaps and shower caps, hairdryer, fluffy bathrobes and slippers, marble floors and TV with satellite channels.

Of course, the cost of such rooms varies greatly, even within the same hotel. This is not least influenced by the view from the window. Traditionally, scenic views of the sea, ocean, mountains or garden are considered the most expensive.

The only thing that unites hotel rooms around the world in some kind, but the system is a star classification, which obliges hotels to comply with a certain minimum area of their rooms and a set of services in them. So, for example, in Iceland, a double room in a 3 * hotel must be at least 18 sq. m, single room - 14. In a 4 * hotel, the area of a double room should be no less than 24 square meters. m, and for one - 16 sq. m. In five-star hotels, doubles can boast of 26 square meters, while singles - 18.

Also, everything is clearly spelled out by the Germans. All rooms in tourist class hotels 1 * must be equipped with a hot shower and color TV, an area of 8 and 12 sq. m. in single and double rooms, respectively. 2 * - 12 and 16 sq. m, 3 * - 14 and 18 sq. m, 4 * - 16 and 22 sq. m, luxury rooms in 5 * hotels must be at least 18 and 26 sq. m.

In addition, it should be noted that a full-fledged bathroom, and not a shower cabin, can only be expected from hotels of the 3 * level and above. When booking doubles, you should also be careful: after all, they are divided according to the type of bed - one double in the room (usually designated as DBL) or two single beds (TWIN).

In hotels in the USA, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean, you can also find this type of room as moderate (MOD). It can not be classified as either a suite, or a suite, or a standard one - rather, it is something in between, close to STD. In Europe, the designations of such rooms as superior (SUP) - "improved" are more common.

Suite

Suite (which is also periodically called "suite" or "suite") comes from the English word suite, the translation of which means " kit"Or" set ".

There are different suites: junior, standard, senior, executive, royal, as well as any that the hotelier decided to implement. Starting from the "Mediterranean", "Caribbean" or suite for the newlyweds, and ending with the "ambassadorial".

The lowest level in the hierarchy of suites is occupied by the junior (from the English "junior"). Its area is approximately 20-25 sq. m, which is slightly larger than a standard room, and it consists of one room, divided into two zones: relaxation and living room. And yet, the difference between junior suites and traditional rooms, in addition to size, is significant: satellite TV, DVD, Internet access, minibar and other options.

The standard suite is a two-room suite of 25-40 sq. m. It has the same filling as in the junior, the only difference is in the size, including the bathroom.

He is followed by the senior ("senior") or the executive, or the president (president suite). Accordingly, these are the most luxurious rooms in the hotel, which occupy from 3 to 7 rooms, have a private pool, sauna, entrance, butler, and so on.

Recently, suites have become a fashion trend, and many hotels specialize exclusively in such rooms. For example, Hilton has a chain of Embassy Suites hotels, the number of rooms which consists exclusively of suites.

Suite

Suite (LUX), abbreviated from the English "luxury" - "luxury, luxurious". Accordingly, deluxe rooms are the most luxurious and, as a rule, only 4-5 * hotels have. Thanks to the recommendation of the World Tourism Organization, the suites range from 30-35 sq. m, sometimes they consist of several rooms: a bedroom and a living room.

The cost of living per night in a suite is usually twice as much as in a standard room. But for this substantial premium, the hotels offer their guests luxurious decoration and furnishings of rooms, picturesque views from the window, a spacious bathroom with a Jacuzzi, fluffy towels and bathrobes, and high-quality cosmetics. Sometimes the price of a suite includes free use of the minibar, swimming pool, fitness center. In addition, suites are sometimes deliberately placed on separate floors with their own recreation, lobby, spa and restaurant.

In the Caribbean, USA, Mexico and some others, these numbers are also called deluxes (DLX).

Apartments

In simple terms, there are two types of apartments: simpler / cheaper and luxurious / expensive. This fact depends on the stardom of the hotel. If this is a high-level hotel, then most likely apartments in it will mean very expensive and comfortable rooms for discerning guests. Such apartments cannot be classified: they are unique even within the same hotel, the only thing that unites them is the size, which starts from two rooms and ends on two floors. And their design depends only on the riot of the hotelier's imagination.

Hotels from 2 to 4 stars, as well as specialized apart-hotels, on the other hand, offer guests fairly budget rooms for a large number of guests. This can be, for example, a two-room apartment for four tourists.

Almost every apartment has a separate bedroom, its own living room, a large full bathroom and a full kitchen or cooking corner. In addition, depending on its class - economy, luxury or business - they differ in furniture and services provided. For example, luxury apartments, in addition to chic furnishings and an abundance of modern technology, offer their guests the services of a personal butler, massage in the room, a security guard, a private car with a driver and a special menu: dietary, with a unique wine list, and so on. Business apartments, as a rule, guarantee guests peace and quiet, high-speed Internet, office equipment - in short, everything that is needed for a full-fledged work.

Rooms for newlyweds

They are distinguished by romantic design, large bed and bathroom with Jacuzzi, as well as specialized service - unique in each hotel. In addition to classic champagne and fruit in the room, some hotels in the Maldives offer unusual weddings on the beach or a desert island, free spa visits or candlelit dinner on a yacht.

In the most romantic city in the world (we are talking, of course, about Paris), the Four Season George V hotel invites newlyweds to stay in the Honeymoon suite, which is located on the top eighth floor. Needless to say, the honey suite's terrace offers stunning views of the Eiffel Tower? And the Bellaggio hotel in Las Vegas offers newlyweds gourmet chocolate made according to a special “love” recipe.

In a word, today rooms for newlyweds can be found in almost all major cities of the world, mostly in 4-5 * hotels.

Bungalow

Bungalow rooms are usually located in isolated small one- or two-story buildings, scattered throughout the hotel complex. Each such building contains 2-4 bungalow rooms, and they can be deluxe or superior class, standard or luxurious suites. This type of accommodation is found, for the most part, in beach resorts - in Greece, Turkey, popular countries of Southeast Asia. Of course, a night in a bungalow is much more expensive than in a standard room (located in the main building of the hotel). They are usually chosen by lovers of silence and solitude.

Villa

This type of accommodation is exclusively for wealthy, discerning clients who value privacy and independence. As a rule, villas are comfortably located somewhere near the main entertainment and infrastructure of the main building of the hotel or hotel complex, while with maximum comfort for their guests. One-, two-story luxury cabins with their own pools, saunas and gardens also offer guests the services of personal butlers, secretaries or chefs. You can rent a villa both for a long period (a month or two) and for the traditional two weeks, while the price does not depend on the number of residents.
